The transcription and evaluation of the H. 1314 (M.1896) Aydin province yearbook

The changes in the administrative structure of the Ottoman Empire as a result of the arrangements made in the central administration after the Tanzimat were also reflected to the provinces. After the "Provincial Regulations" were published in 1864 and 1871, the provinces were subjected to a reorganization in respect of their administration and the yearbooks were started to be printed in the provincial printing houses during this period. In order to understand the change in the provincial structuring, the provincial yearbooks are important in terms of giving outstanding information about the history, geography, social, cultural, economic, educational and population structures of the place where they were published. The subject of our study is the Aydın Province Yearbook of H. 1314 (M.1896). Within the framework of the information in the yearbook, there are significant information and statistics about the administrative units and civilian authorities in the government center, the ethnic and religious distribution of the population, the judicial structure, educational units, agricultural and commercial life, industry, economy, foreign capital institutions, banks, the development of the land, sea and railway network and communication, the military structure, newspapers and printing houses, history and historical structures, geographical structure in this period. After the transcription of the H. 1314 (M.1896) Aydın Province Yearbook, which is the main subject of the study, the parts of the study are determined by ordering the information within the framework of the data in the yearbook. Our study consists of four parts except the introduction.
