Abstract (EN)

Haji Bektashi Veli's Velâyetname is a rich work of art regarding symbols with a unique place among the Velâyetnames. It is an indisputable fact that we have knowledge about the life, the perception of religion and Sufism in this period, and the prestige of Haji Bektashi Veli in Anatolia through these symbols. In this research, nature symbols in Velâyetname will be determined on the basis of symbol studies and information about the meaning of these symbols and how they respond in Turkish mythology will be given. In the introduction chapter of this research consisting of three main chapters, at first, various characteristics of velâyetnames and then the characteristics of Haji Bektashi Veli's Velâyetname, about which we have the most knowledge, will be mentioned. Afterwards, the definition of "symbol", its history, different kinds, and its relationship with branches of science and mythology will be mentioned one by one. In the first chapter, Hünkâr's historical-legendary life, works and philosophy of Bektashism will be discussed. In the second chapter under the title "Nature Symbols in Velâyetname" each symbol will be explained separately according to frequency order. This research will be connected to a comment with a result section after this section, which is composed of sub-titles such as "symbols of the sky, symbols of the earth, animal symbols, plants and their symbols, metals". By this means, the aim to look at Velâyetname from a different point of view in an unconventional way and to extract a pattern of elements belonging to nature with the relevant work which is studied will be achieved.
