Abstract (EN)
Astaxanthin is a natural red carotenoid pigment. Especially, this is present in crustacean and microalgae. Studies indicate that the most efficient source of astaxanthin is Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae. Our study has also benefited from this type of microalgae. Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae's growth has been achieved primarily with two different types of media in the laboratory (Bold Basal medium and Bristol medium) under specific light intensity (36W) and temperature (27 ± 2°C). Moreover, ventilated and non-ventilated conditions were applied to the culture. Ventilation conditions helped the culture of production. The culture in Bold Basal medium has been shown to be more efficient than the culture in Bristol medium. In these conditions, the highest productivity was observed in ventilated and Bold Basal medium. In the second stage of the study, the culture was applied to the stress conditions and astaxanthin accumulation from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae is ensured. The stress conditions are nitrogen deficiency of Bold Basal medium, nitrogen deficiency of Bristol medium, tap water, addition of iron in nitrogen deficiency of Bristol medium and addition of light in nitrogen deficiency of Bristol medium. In these conditions, astaxanthin accumulation in nitrogen deficiency of Bristol medium was shown high results. In Bold nitrogen-free basal medium and tap water stress conditions results were similar in the view of accumulation of astaxanthin and use tap water has been found advantageous in terms of cost. The results in the studies; the Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae in Bold Basal medium was found to be more efficient than other conditions. When the yield of astaxanthin accumulation in stress conditions was examined, nitrogen deficiency of Bristol medium's was found to be advantageous.
