Hafız Yusuf Cemil Ararat and his poems

XIX. and XX. centuries are the times that great alterations were experienced in Ottoman Empire, in terms of social, economic, cultural and politic aspects. The Empire has made a great progress in science and technology until the XVII. century. However, at the end of the century, wwith the negative events such as spread of copitulations, weakening of the central authority and ıncrease of bribery and favoritism, The Empire started to lose it former power. In the XIX. and XX. century, all attemps and innouations which were made in order to prevent this inevitable doom of the empire have become insufficent in time. As a result of this situation, Ottoman Empire collapsed and an independent Turkish state was established. All social, political and cultural incidents that have taken place these times have affected literature naturally. Every artist is ınfluenced by the mentalilty of the people of this period. Events and alterations which are in the periyod they live had positive or negative impact on the artist. All these factors and elements are reflected in the works they wrote. One of the most important poets of the XIX. and XX. century, Hafız Yusuf Cemil Ararat was also influenced by the incidents of this period and he reflected them in his poems. The poems which belong to the poet were transcribed, they were exomined in terms of shape and content by being translated into today's Turkish.
