Abstract (EN)
This study examines the transformation and orks life practices of Turkish vagrants in the context of Hakan Günday's orks. The aim is to discuss the transformation of social characters in the period from the idle characters that emerged with the Tanzimat period, to the 2000s. İn the characters seen until the Republican Period, it can be observed that idleness occurs with a kind of false westernization and consumption motivation. Especially after the novel Aylak Adam, the starting point of idleness was alienation and anti-sociality. In the 2000s, it was tried to underline how the vagrants, who took on even more radical attitudes with the orks of Hakan Günday, were affected by the social changes they opposed.
