Halîl Ahmed Sehârenpûrî's criticisms of Azîmâbâdî in his commentary on Bezlü'l-mechûd

This research aims to shed light on the lives of Sehârenpûrî and Azîmâbâdî, who lived in India and belonged to different schools of thought, and the criticisms made by Sehârenpûrî, who adhered to the Hanafi school, against Azîmâbâdî, who belonged to the Ahl al-Hadith (followers of hadith) camp, during his commentary on Abu Dawud's Sunan, titled Bazl al-Majhood. In this context, the political and social structure of 20th century India is also part of the research. Our study aims to shed light on the differences in the interpretation and derivation of rulings from hadiths between Sehârenpûrî, a representative of the Hanafi school, and Azîmâbâdî, a representative of the Ahl al-Hadith camp.
