The relationship between art and truth in folk stories and humor

Philosophy is a theoretical and practical activity that seeks the truth. While seeking the truth, philosophy takes a holistic attitude. Art activities have been the subject of study of philosophy in terms of being specific to people who produce value. Our study has questioned the possibility that works of art can make a truth claim. Humor is an understanding that we cannot separate from both people and art. In our study, humor theories were evaluated by analyzing the concepts of laughter, laughter and humor. An answer has been sought to the question of whether humor can produce value. Peoples have a sense of humor that they share with their culture and language. The only way we can grasp this sense of humor is to study folk art works. In this way, we can discover the unique characters of peoples and the universal values they share. Our aims in our work; to show how humor is used in art, especially literature. Among the senses of humor, grotesque humor appears in different historical periods, in the folk cultures of different societies. The grotesque elements in the works of François Rabelais during the Early Renaissance and in the Stories of Dede Korkut during the transition to Islam and in the Stories of Nasreddin Hodja will be evaluated and compared.
