Abstract (EN)

IV ABSTRACT Today there is just no institution a establishment which doesn't comprehend the importance and position at Turkish Folk Dancing but these institutions-establishments don't present an exact wholeness while they are transferring the ftinctions at Turkish Folk Dancing to the next generations. It is to say that, while someone consider the folk dancing functions with their entertaining sides, others use them for making fiends, travelling, visiting, different places. While the folk dancing functions as a cultural social unifying, developed countries speed their development up to realise the importance at culture in development,develop, collect, produce positive culture politics. Today the rivalry between the countries changed its shape. The shape-contend at colonialism changed. ît is the evidence at continuation at colonialism that the developed countries keep the developing countries under their thumb. Turkey must do its best in the timeout social-cultural change while it is working to adapt to the world-protecting-developing its own cultural values. Being careful is very important while analysing, collecting-archiving the folk dancing- while teaching it to the next generations teachers- learners must be very careful. The folk dancing, which has some affects on society, has physiological, psychological, sociological effects on university students. Universities are the doors at countries which are entrusted to the future. The role at folk dancing in universities is very important because it effects the relationship at the students so it is the subject at our researches. For this reason in our research we search psycho-social effects at folk dancing on university students. Our research has been made on 226 students who participated 2001 Folk Dancing Competition made between universities in Antalya (128 male - 98 female)SPSS for Windows 9.01 Packet Program has been used in the evaluation of the datum's. The datum knowledge's arithmetical averages are commented by taking out the frequency and present values. In our study, all of the university students who are participating the folk dancing activities accept that folk dancing is an element of the culture. In order to the results of evaluating our public survey; the students that participated the activities; 48.2 % do it enjoying, 38.1 % think that it is effective to evaluate spare times, 27.4 % do it to make a carrier in society, 30.5 % do it to understand the variations of the culture, 54.4 % do it to identify different cultures, 27.4 % do it to develop their self confidence.
