Investigation of public knowledge , attitudes and practices regarding COVİd-19 vaccine

SUMMARY AL-ZAIDI, Nadia Flaifel Hlail. Investigation of public knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding Covid-19 vaccine., (Master Thesis ), Çankırı, 2022. This research aims to examine the evaluations of the Iraqi people regarding ‎their knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding the Covid-19 vaccine. In addition ‎to this, it is also aimed to examine whether the vaccination status of the participants ‎differs according to their demographic characteristics. In the cross-sectional ‎descriptive study, the sociodemographic characteristics of the people were defined ‎and the evaluations of the people about Covid-19 vaccine were obtained using the ‎‎"Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Scale about the Covid-19 Vaccine". The research ‎was carried out in the city of Nasiriyah with 864 participants aged 18 and over who ‎agreed to participate in the study. ‎Data obtained from the research were analyzed ‎using the IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL, ‎USA) package program. ‎Descriptive statistical analysis was used to determine the demographic characteristics ‎of the participants and their knowledge, attitude and application levels towards the ‎Covid-19 vaccine. In the comparison of the variables, t-test was used for the ‎variables with two categories, and ANOVA analysis was used for the variables with ‎three or more categories.‎ As a result of the study, it was seen that most of the participants had ‎sufficient ‎knowledge about the Covid-19 vaccine, a positive attitude towards the ‎vaccine, and positive thoughts about the vaccine application. In addition, it has been ‎determined that knowledge, attitude and ‎application levels towards the Covid-19vaccine show significant differences according to, gender, education status, ‎occupation, economic status, main source of information and vaccination status.‎ Key Words: Covid-19, Vaccine, Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, Iraq.
