Abstract (EN)

Hamzanâme, written by Hamzavî, the brother of Ahmedî, a 14th-century poet, tells the courage, honesty and belligerence of Hazrat Hamza, an epic folk tales read by the Turks with great interest and told by the meddahs. Hazrat Muhammad's uncle Hz. Hamza's efforts and heroism in the early years of Islam in the spread of Islam constitute the subject of Hamzanâme. Hamzâname, which reflects the linguistic features of Old Anatolian Turkish, has seventy-two volumes known. In our study, we discussed the second part of the sixth volume of Hamzanâme. We first translated transcribed version of the text. Then we prepared a summary of the text. We then created a comprehensive dictionary that reflects the entire vocabulary of the text. Key Words: Hamzanâme, Hamzavî, 14th Century, Former Anatolian Turkish Period.
