Abstract (EN)

According to Arendt, the fundamental conditions of our existence in the world we live in are the labor of our bodies, the work of our hands, and ultimately, others with whom we share this world. While our bodies strive to preserve their biological existence, our hands, through the things and institutions they produce, ensure our permanence in the world. For Arendt, our public existence, which manifests itself through speech and action by establishing the network of relationships that constitute our objective world, generates roles and meanings regarding the world we inhabit. This shared space with others, according to Arendt, constitutes the answer to our quest for meaning in the world. This study examines Arendt's concept of vita activa, which contrasts the solitude of contemplation and knowledge-oriented thinking with the concrete experiences of our public existence that emerge in plurality. It subjects Arendt's philosophical ideas to scrutiny by discussing how in the realm of action, filled with biographical events we enter by birth, humans require more than knowledge. The realm of the mind, shaped by concrete realities and experiences, forms judgments during thought processes, continually reaching out to the concrete existence of others. In this context, the study aims to elucidate how Arendt directly relates the activity of thinking through her line of thought and action to the ethical and conscientious dimensions.
