Abstract (EN)

The Baydāwī hashiyah named İnāyat al-Kādī wa Kifāyat al-Rādī by the Egyptian Hanafi scholar Shihāb al-dīn al-Khafājī, who lived in the Seventeenth Century, has an important place in the hāshiya tradition. As an example of the Tafsīr hāshiya tradition, it not only deals with the subjects covered before it in a more serious and in-depth manner, but also includes original contributions and criticisms al-Khafājī's hāshiya also influenced later hāshiyas in terms of style, content and examples. This study, which aims to reveal Shihāb al-dīn al-Khafājī's understanding of hāshiya and its place in the tradition of hāshiya, consists of an introduction and four chapters. In the introduction section, information about the purpose, importance and sources of the subject is given. In the first chapter, Tafsīr hāshiya in the Islamic Writing Tradition is described in general terms in terms of its definition, history and characteristics.. In the second part, information about al-Khafājī's life, his works and the characteristics of the period in which he lived is given. In the third chapter, al-Khafājī's hāshiya was examined in terms of its method and sources. In the fourth chapter, Ināya is examined in terms of the types of ulûmu'l-Qur'an and Tafsīr and is compared with the annotations of Ibn Tamcīd (d. 880/1475), al-Suyûtī , Shayhzāda, Siyâlkûtî and Konevî (d. 1195/1780) on the relevant subjects.
