Case study on green information technology practice in airline companies

In this study, two-stage case study for green informatics applications in airlines is aimed. For this purpose, in the first stage, semi-structured interviews were conducted on managers and personnel in an airline company. In the interviews, green informatics knowledge, awareness, policies, investments, human resources practices and promotional practices were determined. In the second dimension of the study, in the light of the data collected from the interviews and with the support of the Planned Behavior Theory, the green informatics behaviors of the airline companies and the green informatics performances of the airline companies were measured. Within the scope of the research, green informatics behavior and green informatics performance were discussed in the broadest form in terms of both managers and personnel by revealing the current status of green informatics applications in airlines. It is thought that the findings obtained from the study will contribute to future studies, the airline company and all aviation stakeholders.
