Evaluation of ready- wear supply chain by life cycle assessment

Today, the concept of ready-to-wear fashion is defined as fast fashion, which is influenced by popular culture and changes not only seasonally but almost weekly. The concept of fast fashion has also necessitated fast production and sale of the product as quickly as possible. In the ready- to-wear sector, the priority in supplier selection criteria is cheapness and speed. Sustainability usually comes after these two criteria. This situation causes a lot of waste, carbon emissions and environmental pollution. In this study, which was conducted to determine how much sustainable ready-to-wear logistics will reduce carbon emissions, the environmental impact of ready-to-wear logistics activities was evaluated using the GaBi software and life cycle assessment (LCA). It was observed that the use of cargo aircraft, which is a fast product shipment method preferred in small quantities in order to be fast, has the highest environmental impact. Thanks to the measures that can be taken in line with the results, the use of sustainable logistics methods and the minimization of carbon emissions originating from ready-to-wear logistics will increase awareness in the sector about the siginificance of reducing environmental pollution.
