Abstract (EN)

This research is a descriptive, cross-sectional and relationship-seeking study with theaim of evaluating the "Effects of Hemodialysis Patients' Perception of Exercise Benefits and Barriers to Physical Activity Level". The study was conducted with patients with chronic renal failure who were treated with hemodialysis between September 10 and December 10, 2021 in Bursa Private A Central Dialysis Centerand met the criteria for inclusion in the study. (n=190). Patient information form, Hemodialysis patients exercise benefits/barriers scale (DEPSS), International Short Form for Physical Activity (UFAA) were used to collect research data. Data were collected by therese archer using the face-to-face technique. In the analysis of data; SPSS (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences) version 20 was used and descriptive statistical methods, parametric comparison tests and correlation tests were used.The meanage of the patients was 62.24±12.53 years, 60.5% of those who received hemodialysis treatment were male, 70.52% were married and 37.9% were primary school graduates. It was determined that 88.4% of the patients do not work and 53.7% of them have in come equalto their expenses.The mean score of the Exercise Benefits and Barriers Scale is 65.04±10.28. The mean scores of the Exercise Benefits and Barriers Scales how statistically significant differences according togender, educational status, ability to perform daily activities independently, exercising, medical diagnosis and having other chronic diseases (p<0.005). According to the weekly MET total score of the patients, 84.2% of the patients were inactive, 14.7% were minimally active and 1.1% were sufficiently active. It was determined that there was a positive and moderate correlation between exercise barriers, exercise benefits and total scores of hemodialysis patients and physical activity scores (p<0.001). As a result of there search; Although the perception of exercise benefits barriers of hemodialysis patients was moderate, it was observed that the patients were inactive. Men, university graduates, those who do their daily activities independently, those who exercise, and patients who do not have any additional chronic diseases think that exercise is beneficial. It was observed that the patients who perceived the benefits of exercise as high had a high total physical activitys core
