Abstract (EN)
Introduction and Aim: It is well known that, perception of the organizational support increases employee performance, organizational commitment, and intention to stay at work. This study was designed to investigate the relationship between nurses' perceived organizational support and teamwork attitude. Materials and Methods: The study population of this descriptive and cross sectional study consisted of nurses working in surgical and intensive care units of two hospitals in Izmir (N=350). No sample selection method was used in the study; nurses who worked in the same unit for at least six months, who were not on leave at the time of the study and also voluntarily agreed to participate in the study were included in the study (n=243). As a data collection tool; "Personal Information Form", "Teamwork Attitudes Scale and "Perceived Organizational Support Scale " were used in the study. The data of the study was collected by distributing the questionnaire forms to the nurses and retrieving them by the researcher. In the analysis of the data; number, percentage, minimum and maximum values, mean value, standard deviation, Cronbach's Alpha, t-test, Mann-Whitney U Test, One-Way ANOVA, Kruskall Wallis-H test and correlation analysis were used. Results: Most of the nurses were female (93.83%), married (61.76%), bachelor's degree (48.15%). with an average age of 36.62±6.75 years, and 15.78±7.79 years of professional experience. It was determined that the mean score of TWAS of the nurses was 112.00±14.45 and the mean score of POSS was 23.95±6.30. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of POSS; according to some variables of the nurses (position, working style, finding in-service trainings in the institution sufficient, receiving training about teamwork in the institution, thinking that the teamwork exhibits in the unit, etc.), in addition, mean scores of TWAS also have statistically significant differences according to some variables (finding in-service training in the institution inadequate, not receiving training about teamwork in the institution, finding themselves prone to teamwork, etc.) Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was found that the mean scores of POSS and TWAS of the nurses were high; however, it was determined that there was no statistically significant relationship between the scores of POSS and TWAS (p> 0.05).
