Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to analyze the apparatuses involved in the oppression of the individual in the Advanced Industrial Society based on the works of Herbert Marcuse and to learn the ways to save him from the situation he is in. In trying to do this, we will try to follow Marcuse's thoughts on culture, technology, politics, society and science by synthesizing the thoughts of names such as Hegel, Marx, Freud, Weber and Lukâcs, and we will try to add an evaluation of the ways in which the new social order affects the individual and the broad conclusions it offers us. Karl Marx refers to history as "the history of the conflict of classes", while Sigmund Freud refers to history as "the history of the oppression of societies". From this point of view, the need for the liberation of the individual and society from this oppression stands before us as perhaps the most important stage of history. In many ways, this liberation is closely related to the situation of the human being in the new society. In order to analyze this relationship, Marcuse says that the determination of human needs in advanced industrial society determines human beings in a way. Therefore, in order to get rid of the oppressive needs of the advanced industrial society, the creation of a new type of human being and a change in the biological dimension will pave the way. . Marcuse's focus mainly on a new type of human being and a biological dimension is related to the idea that the sphere of freedom requires a qualitative rather than a quantitative distinction from established societies. This is why Marcuse says that capitalism should not be restored but completely abolished by a revolution. Will the consumer society be the last step, the gravedigger of capitalism? A comprehensive answer to this question can be found in Marcuse's wide range of thoughts.
