Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted in the spring months of 2019 and 2020 in order to determine the effects of grafting on different rootstocks in hybrid watermelon seed production on seed yield and quality. In the study, 187×125 and 11×162 hybrids and 187 and 11 female inbred lines and 125 and 162 male parental inbred lines were used as the scion. Non-grafted seedlings were used as control application. Nun9075, TZ148, Argentario, 3335 and PI296341 rootstocks and lines were grafted on themselves. As a result of the research: especially Nun9075 and TZ148 in terms of main stem length (cm); 3335, Nun9075 and Argentario in terms of number of nodes on the main stem; Nun9075, TZ148 ve Argentario in terms of main stem diameter (mm); although there is not a very significant difference, in general Nun9075 and Argentario in terms of live pollen (% ); Argentario in terms of pollen production for flower, total yield (kg /m2), fruit weight (g), TTC (% ), fruit length (cm), fruit width (cm) and fruit rind thickness (mm); TZ148 and Nun9075 in terms of total seed number (number/fruit); TZ148 in terms of total seed weight (g/fruit); 3335 in terms of 1000 grain weight (g); total seed viability in determination on TZ148; Nun9075 in terms of germination (% ), average seed emergence time (days) and emergence velocity index the best results were obtained to grafting on rootstocks.
