Abstract (EN)

India-China relations have undergone dramatic changes for nearly six decades ranging from a good neighbouring and cooperation 1950?s, a deep hostility in the 1960?s and 1970?s, to a normalization in the 1980?s and a rapprochement since the demise of the Soviet Union. The two big Asian powers have been drawn together lately in the post-cold War era by a common sentiment. Both India and China yearn for a truly multipolar system. The dynamics of a multipolar world require China and India to have global political influence, economic and technological capability and military strength in order to become major power centers of the world.Despite a thaw and rapprochement in Sino-Indian relations, the basic disputes of the two nations continue to bedevil their relationship. Tibet issue, boundary issue, Sino-Pakistani entente and competition on the Himalayas and the Indian Ocean could be serve as the limits of the Sino-Indian rapprochement.
