Abstract (EN)
Objective: Adipokines play a regulatory role in many functions in the body with many mediators. Interest in adipokines has been increasing in recent years. Today, adipokines are being investigated as potential drug targets for the future in many systemic diseases. With this thesis, our aim is to reveal the effects of adipokines, which have important regulatory roles in metabolic pathways, in the pathophysiology of hypertension, and to investigate their relationship with various biological parameters in patient and control blood samples. Materials and Method: Our thesis work was done at Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital. The population of this case control type study was composed of patients over 18 years of age who applied to Dicle University Medical Faculty Hospital Family Medicine and Cardiology outpatient clinics between 01.03.2019-01.09.2019. Results: A total of 180 people, 96 of whom were from the control group, were included in our study. 105 of them were female and 75 were male. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure values in the patient and control groups, respectively; 149,07 ± 15,689, 112,53 ± 10,064. Median (min-max) leptin 7.84 (1.13-980.88), 2.40 (1.15- 46.92) (P <0.001), visceral 1.01 (for adipokines patients and control groups, respectively. 0.23-5.14), 0.79 (0.1-2.65) (P = 0.41), intellectin 74.18 (10.3-1438.78), 37.53 (10.1 -131,54) (P <0,001), chemerin 198,57 (91,72-1380,13), 177,57 (131,46-852,25) (P = 0,347), Retinol binding protein 109,64 ( 44.97-5314.66), 48.53 (12.56-377.05) (P <0.001), adiponectin 5.21 (1.08-23.90), 4.07 (1.01-10 , 19) (P = 0.016), resistine 529.32 (119.97-3071.44), 276.18 (109.24-1078.04) (P <0.001), visfatin 10.6134 (1.25- 93.92), 5.77 (1.77-27.04) (P <0.001), Crp 2.19 (, 04-6.56), 2.19 (, 72-5.22) (P = 0,113), Body mass index; 28.72 (18.43-41.62), 25.13 (16.22-47.38) (P <0.001). Conclusion:Adipokines correlated with systolic and diastolic blood pressure are leptin, intellectin (omentin), rbp1, resistin and visfatin. leptin correlated with body mass index (BMI). A slight negative correlation with blood pressure was observed in chemerin levels. Adiponectins correlated with age are leptin, intellectin, rbp1, resistin and visfatin. However, the roles of adipokines in the cardiovascular system still need to be clarified, and our study reveals that both in vivo and invitro studies should be performed widely.
