Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the information about the military structure and the combat capability of the Hittite state prevailing Anatolia throughout the BC 2nd Millennium is tried to be provided.This study has revealed the crucial role that the Hittites played in the ancient military history of Anatolia, with regards to their military organization, equipment, training, and defense techniques during the reign of their history. Despite the absence of the cavalry and naval forces, Hittite state, which has substantial organizational structure, has generated a strong and disciplined army by training both their foot soldiers and chariots professionally. The main weaponry of the Hittite army is sword, spear and bow, though the rampart surrounding the city has consisted of their defense strategy. The information provided as a summary was prepared in the light of archaeological evidence, written documents and studies prepared on this subject.Keywords:1-Military Organization,2-Hittite,3-Ancient History
