Healing and purification in Hittite rituals

This thesis titled "Healing and Purification in Hittite Rituals" has two purposes: (1) To examine the diseases, illnesses and negativities treated through these rituals, and to determine whether the conditions suffered by the Hittites have a similar equivalent in modern medicine, in line with the symptoms stated about them. (2) To determine the illocutionary and performative acts of the practices used in these rituals to heal and purify patients, the functions of these acts and, accordingly, what effect the rituals may have had on the patient. In this respect, the third and fifth parts of this five-part study are mainly related to the aims of the study. Other sections contain information and analyzes that will enable us to better understand the components, tools, agents, elements and nature of the rituals in question.
