Abstract (EN)

Objective/Introduction: HIV/AIDS is a public health problem that can have negative consequences if left uncontrolled. In this context, it is necessary to investigate and implement the United Nations 95-95-95+95 global target, which is an initiative that can control HIV/AIDS. This study aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes of individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Turkey within the scope of the United Nations 95-95-95+95 global target. Method: This study was conducted between October 10, 2024, and June 10, 2025, at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Hospital, Department of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, with 295 individuals who were followed up at the outpatient clinic. Data were collected using the "Descriptive Characteristics Form" and the "Berger HIV-Related Stigma Scale." The data were analyzed using nonparametric and parametric tests. Results: The average age of the individuals participating in the study was 34.31±11.05. 82.4% (n=243) were male, 65.4% (n=193) were heterosexual, 69.5% (n=205) were single, and 33.6% (n=99) were university graduates. Individuals learned of their diagnosis by chance when they were tested for another purpose in 30.2% (n=89) of cases, the route of transmission was sexual contact in 50.5% (n=149) of cases, the time to start treatment after diagnosis was 0-4 weeks in 55.9% (n=165) within 0-4 weeks, treatment adherence was 66.1% (n=195), 81% (n=239) had increased CD4 levels, and 66.8% (n=197) had negative HIV RNA levels. Under the 95-95-95+95 framework, the first 95 indicators are: those who learned of their diagnosis by chance 60% (n=177), and those who know how they were infected 62.5% (n=175). The second 95 indicator is: early access to treatment (within 1 month) 55.9% (n=165). The third 95 indicators are as follows: 66.1% (n=195) are compliant, 81% (n=239) show immune compliance, and 66.8% (n=197) have positive viral load suppression. The fourth 95 indicator; total stamping was found to be at a high level (M:106, x̄:106.55 ± 22.55), and internalized stamping was found to be at a high level among its sub-dimensions (M:40; x̄:38.01± 8.05). Conclusion: This study has enabled the comprehensive assessment of the clinical outcomes of individuals diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in terms of the 95-95-95+95 United Nations global targets. It is recommended that the current situation be determined and improved at the national and international levels in studies aimed at protecting and improving public health.
