Abstract (EN)

Hz. Ali has an important place in the formation and historical development of Islamic sects. The aim of this study is to examine Hz. Ali's personality and religiosity. Religious psychology is a branch of science that examines religious life. It tries to explain the character and personality of people by conducting studies on people who have lived religion. It is foreseen that this study is important because Hz. Ali is an exemplary figure both in his time and today with his religiosity and religious life. The fact that he grew up and lived next to Hz. Muhammad and that he took the Prophet as his role model allowed his personality to be properly shaped. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the situations that affected the formation of Hz. Ali's personality. Hz. Ali was with Hz. Muhammad from a very young age, was the first person to believe in him, learned the holy book from him and became his scribe. Hz. Muhammad never left his side until he lost his life. He was raised with the hadith and revelation culture of the Messenger of Allah. All these characteristics gave him the opportunity to make decisions on religious issues. Hz. Ali was a very scholarly person. Hz. Ali is also known as one of the rare people with a multi-faceted personality. The fact that Hz. Muhammad distinguished Hz. Ali from the other companions and that he grew up in an environment of the holy book and the sunnah led to his personality being examined.
