Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of some anthropometric characteristics on athletic performance of children aged 11-14, who were applied IAAF children's athletics program. 24 students randomly selected from among the students of "Şirinköy Şehit Mevlüt Göl Secondary School" and "Cumhuriyet Secondary School" of the Directorate of National Education in the Gürgentepe district of Ordu province were included in the study. Participants were 4 (16.7%) 11 years old, 6 (25%) 12 years old, 6 (25%) 13 years old, 8' i (33.3%) is 14 years old. Twelve women (50%) and 12 men (50%) with a mean height of 1.57±0.09 (cm) and a body weight of 45.96±9.04 (kg) voluntarily participated. 12-week IAAF children's athletics as pre-test and post-test measurements of shot put, long jump, 60-meter sprint, 1000-meter running, hip, thigh, calf circumference, whole leg length, whole arm length, biceps circumference, and flexibility. applied before and after the program. According to the analysis results of the shot put, long jump, 60m short distance running, 1000m running, hip, calf circumference, whole leg length, biceps circumference and flexibility variables of the experimental group, there was a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test values for each variable. a difference was found (p<0.05). When the significant differences are examined in this context, the shot put, long jump, calf circumference, whole leg length, biceps circumference and flexibility variables are in favor of positive rows (post-test), and this result shows that the IAAF Child Athletics Program affects the values of the variables in an increasing way. 60m sprint, 1000m running and hip variables are in favor of negative ranks (pre-test), which is an expected result, which is expected to decrease with shortening of the running times and tightening of the hip area, and this result shows that the IAAF Child Athletics Program affects the values of the variables in an increasing way. On the other hand, no statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test and post-test values of the thigh and whole arm length variable (p>0.05). As a result, it is thought that regular IAAF children's athletics training can improve some physical fitness characteristics and athletic performance of secondary school children. As a result, IAAF training as a school can be learned through training training exercise and athletic training in secondary school.
