Abstract (EN)

Our study on Ibn Asakir's life and the method of using hadith in his work "History of Damascus" consists of an introduction and two sections. In the introduction, we tried to review the nature of the research, its methodology and resources briefly. In the first part, we tried to examine the period and the political, social and scientific environment İbn Asakir lived along with his family and personality in detail. The reason of this elaborate part is to contribute to the introduction of an important person such as İbn Asakir who sets a great example to humanity both with his knowledge and his life. In the second part, we tried to analyze Ibn Asakir's role in the Science of Hadith, his educational background, his teachers, contemporary scholars, students and studies on Hadith together with Darul Hadith enNuriyya where both Ibn Asakir and Darul Hadith worked in addition to the Hadith sources and the characteristics of Hadith preservations in his most important work "History of Damascus". As a result of the analysis, we have found out that İbn Asakir narrated Hadith on a vast scale as he gave great importance to the expeditions for the Science of Hadith. Since Ibn Asakir has many detailed evidencefor the Hadith he collected, this helps us to recognize the Hadith scholars he worked with. We also tried to share the contributions of Ibn Asakir and his works on Hadith to the Islamic Culture and Civilization. In the end, we summarize the basic ideas and convictions that we have come up with. Key words: Ibn Asakir, Hadith, Muhaddith, "Tarikh Madinat-al Dimashq (HistoryOf Damascus)", Darul Hadith enNuriyya
