Abstract (EN)
The two constituent parts of this work has been compiled by utilizing the main source which is Ibrahim Pecevi Efendis' prominent work entitled Tarih-i Pecevi. In the first part, we traced the information, which were seldomly covered in the main source, regarding Pecevis' life. By adhering to the original flow in the work, subsequent to these information a chronological life story was given. In the second part, some of the socio-cultural concepts, which were named in the Tarih-i Pecevi, were scrutinized. As a statesmen and a historian who has comprehended the 16th and 17th centuries in the Ottoman Empire, by scrutinizing the concepts mentioned earlier the aim is to shed light on the patterns of understanding concerning that particular period. It is obvious that this work, which can also be designated as mind evaluation, has been constrained to the concepts discussed. As the type though to enable a wider perspective it is expected that they are devisified and generalized.
