Abstract (EN)

Lighting equipments are architectural equipments in various forms and figures in Turkish culture and world. Lighting equipments are very important architectural componenets in interior decoration besides they provide light demand. Previously, primitive lighting tools changed form into like torches, candles, candle sticks, lanterns, chandeliers, oil lamps. These tools are products of traditional ornamentation in past; today they vary by the effect of technological developments and art schools. Lighting equipments shows important developments as an industrial product in Turkey today, on the other hand it is nearly impossible to see the effect of our traditional culture about the patterns and designs of lighting equipments. The aim of this study is to bring light the reflection of our cultural motives and compositions on design and pattern properties of inner lighting equipments intended for industrial production. The theme of the research was followed through the development of examples made in Turkish and world history. Old examples of inner lighting equipments made by traditional motives and forms were analyzed. In this study, data communication with the firms, which makes design and production of lighting equipments, was provided. In the research, last term examples of lighting tools made by using the traditional Turkish motives were introduced with information about the types of lighting and inner lighting equipments. With this context, 32 original inner lighting designs were formed. Original designs were drew on to two dimension and were modeled on computer. Three of the original designs were applied by the firm named Sedef Avize.Nowadays the estrangement to our own motives and patterns will be stopped by producing the lighting tools by using our traditional motives and forms. Living and keeping alive our cultural impression about this excessively important sector will give birth a different line of sight and taste to designs.
