Abstract (EN)
In this study the IEEE 802.15.4 standard was comprehensively examined and a wireless network communicating in line with the standard was established. As an infrastructure for the subject, the purpose for establishment of the 802.15 WPAN working group by IEEE and the working topics were summarized and the relation between the IEEE 802.15.4 standard and ZigBee technology was explained and ZigBee and Bluetooth technologies were compared in Chapter One. In Chapter Two, IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN was generally described. Topics such as LRWPAN device architecture, data transfer model and the primitive concept were put forward. Also the network topologies that are not covered by the standard were also examined in this chapter. The IEEE 802.15.4 standard defines 2 layers. Tasks such as the activation of intranet radio transfer, frequency selection and data transmission-reception are under the responsibility of the defined physical layer (PHY). Characteristics, frame structure and requirements of the physical layer are explained in Chapter Three. In Chapter Four, the Medium Access Control (MAC) sub-layer was described. Structures of MAC command frames, beacon, data and confirmation were explained in detail and each MAC command frame was described. Tasks like establishment of a network, connection to and disconnection of device from the network that are under the responsibility of MAC sublayer were also examined in this chapter. Description and configuration of the RF transmitter-receiver chip used in the project were examined in Chapter Five. In practice, for remote control and monitoring of the pump situations in fuel-oil stations, the data load to be carried on the air interface is defined by DCR-ECR communication protocol. The IEEE 802.15.4 network established, structure of the devices in the network, DCR-ECR communication protocol and the tests conducted are presented in Chapter Six and the project was completed in the Conclusion.
