Abstract (EN)
The world climate has undergone many changes from past ages to the present. This change initially developed naturally. With the Industrial Revolution taking place and affecting the whole world, major changes began to occur in the climate. In addition to the climate changing due to natural causes, when the influence of humankind on the climate began to increase, these changes in the climate began to show their effects. Climate change appears as a phenomenon that seriously threatens our world. On the other hand, climate change has had negative consequences for our world. Climate change, which is increasing today, also causes disasters. It causes various natural disasters to occur in the world and the number of disasters to increase. Disasters, which have increased in recent years, cause millions of people to lose their lives and cause serious damage to economies. One of the disasters that has been increasing in our world for several years is forest fires. News of forest fires have been on the agenda lately in many parts of the world. Increasing temperatures due to climate change trigger forest fires. It is predicted that disasters caused by climate change will bring serious dangers to our world in the coming years. In this study, the historical development, causes and consequences of climate change are discussed. Information was given about natural disasters caused by climate change, human-made disasters and the negativities caused by these disasters. The forest fires that occurred in California/Dixie and Antalya/Manavgat in 2021 will be examined within the framework of the disaster management approach. A comparison of the studies carried out during these two forest fires will be made in the light of the data obtained from the literature and with content analysis. It has been revealed that disaster management in both countries is not sufficient in the face of forest fires.
