Abstract (EN)
According to the fourth assessment report (AR4) prepared within the scope of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to evaluate the causes and consequences of climate change, statistically significant changes are expected in precipitation and especially temperature values of many regions on earth. In this thesis, possible effects of climate change on the water resources of Çukurova Region were evaluated. The 47-year period between 1970 and 2017 was chosen as the study period. In Adana station; in January, February, April and November, there was a tendency to decrease at minimum temperatures, insignificant decreases, and to increase at minimum temperatures outside these months. A statistically significant increase in temperature sequences and a significant decrease in precipitation sequences were detected in the meteorological stations subject to the study. In addition, while the tendency towards decreasing annual total precipitation is more prominent in the stations located in the coastal and central sections, the decrease in the stations in the northern section is uncertain. Based on these data, the hazards and risks that hydrological components such as surface flow, temperature and precipitation of the Çukurova Region in the Eastern Mediterranean Region may be exposed to within the scope of climate change have been estimated.
