Abstract (EN)

As a social being, one of the most important needs of man is communication and the most important element which has been leading civilizations is the developments in communication. In the history of humanity, the written language has been understood by the society in which it is used, while symbolic statements let civilizations to communicate. The age which we live in is precisely an ?age of symbols? and there are no products, goods, ideas or foundations which don't have symbols. Throughout the history; signs and symbols have been used so as to distinguish a product from the others, after emblems and logos the term of brand emerged and today it is not so important to be a brand but it's crucial to be a brand icon. In this study the subject of ?How to be a brand icon which based on brand is going to be examined. In the first chapter; the subjects the term of `icon', and the history of the term ?icon? accompanying the correlation of the term of ?icon? with culture were examined. In the second chapter; the subjects the term of `brand icon? and the ways that should be followed to be a brand icon and `the elements of brand icon? were examined. In the third chapter two brands of our country that promisingly can be a brand icon were examined accompanying two samples that could reach the ?brand icon? high-standingKeywords: Icon, Brand Icon, Brand, Advertisement.
