Abstract (EN)

Religion is one of the basic institution that shapes the ideas, attitudes and behaviours of people and their relationships with others and social ways of living. Religion has an important place in social life. In addition to its basic function as making the human life meaningful, religion has an effectual element in shaping the individual and social identity and in socializing.Socializing is a phase that the human passes from his birth until winning the membership of the society that he lives in. In socializing process, the individual learns and internalizate the religious, traditional and cultural values. By the way, we should state that learning and internalizating are two different processes. Not only the compromise in the religious values hasn't been as the same as in the old times, but also the western values have won prevalence in Turkish society that has been in the high effects of westernizing and modernisation for a few century.In this situation, there has been distance between the religious values which the students of faculty of theology - that have been educated abaut religion densitly- learn and the values and thoughts in social life.In this study, we are going to handle the problems of the students of the faculty of theology about socializing in the context of religion. We are going to try to analyze the lot of the function of the religion in the students' daily lives and in this context the communication adventure of the individual.Keywords: Religion, Socializing, Faculty of Theology
