Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to evaulate third grade Life Studies course students? performance on Inquiry-Based Project studies.This research is descriptive study and has private condition (monolith single condition pattern) was carried on with 25 students (13 boys,12 girls) studying on third grades in a state school Adana Province Yüreğir District for 10 weeks in 2007-2008 school year. Additionally, 2 class teachers and 1 Social Studies teacher took part in for evaluating the students. Assessment form was made up enabling to students both evaulating themselves and their groups. With this aim;?What do I know form??, `Group Essence Evaluation Form?, `Peer Evaluating Form?, and `I am evaulating by myself Form? that Linda CAMPELL formed and directed to evaluate the related information that the students having was carried out. Being evaulated the students by the teachers `Group Evaulation Form? and `Project Evaulation Forms?were used to collect data. Descriptive Statistic Techniques was used for analysing obtained quantitative data. So; firstly, data was transfered to the computer, it was exemined again and the data was coded.According to the results of the research, answers to the given forms for evaulating the performances of third grade students in social studies course on Project showed that these activities were effective on students? performences.Keywords: Inqury-Based Approach, Social Studies Programme, Performance Evaluation, Project-based Learning, Cooperative Learning
