Abstract (EN)
The main objective of this thesis is to show that in German as second language classes, similar words in English and German can be taught easily and in cathcy way by using English as a bridge language. For this purpose, German workbook "Hallo Anna" and English Workbook "Well Done" which are at the same level, were analyzed on the basis of words and the similar words and phrases in English and German. For this purpose a group lesson with 4th graders whose first foreign language is English, German as second foreign language was carried out. "Hallo Anna" and "Well Done" and also flashcards that are related to the subjects were used as class material. It has been observed that students learn better when the words in German are clarified by using English and when the similar phrases are used, the motivation for learning a foreign language has increased.
