It has had many differant stages up to now. Ithas gained importance day by day but the expected quality of education couldn?t beachieved because of the inefficient resources.For this reason, we aimed to get the opinions of the technology teachersworking at primary schools about career planning. 120 teachers of technical education,working in the centers of Mersin, Erdemli and Tarsus, were involved into this researchbut the opinions of 108 teachers answering the questionnaire fully were taken intoconsideration. 21 of them were interviewed face to face and the findings of thisinterview were added to the results of the research. In the evaluation of the findingsabtaired from the research, percentage and frequency are used and reviewinginformations are presented by using indexical analysis.With the research findings, the fact that the science of technology programmehasn?t reached the targets completly by the view of the occupational direction anddoesn?t reflect the praits of our times is realized. İn the view of the science oftechnology teachers? ideas, the fact that the science of technology programme is reededto be arranged again according to technology education and it doesn?t carry out ıt?sfunctions of occupational advertisement are found out.7The examples of the activities about the studies of career planning taking part inthe science of technology education were given by taking the age and class levels of thestudents into consideration.Key Words: The Science Of Technology Education, Technology Education,Occupational Education, Basic Education, Occupational Advisory, , OccupationalDiversion
