Department of Computer Education and Instructional TechnologyAdvisor: Assistant Prof. Oğuz KUTLUJuly 2007, 82 pagesIn this research, it is aimed to evaluate the primary education 8th gradecomputer class coursebooks? appropriateness to visual presentation principlesand make content analysis. The research has a search model and it includes 4books of primary education 8th grade computer class coursebooks? of which areaccepted as appropriate by the Ministery of Education. These books areevaluated by two scales. The fist scale is ?visual presentation principles? andthe second scale is ?content analysis?. The scales have three choices; `Yes?,?Partly?, and `No?. The choices are computed as; ?Yes? 2 points, ?Partly? 1 pointand `No? 0 point. The data which is obtained from the datum are evaluated from1 to 10. According to the result of the evaluation of the books in the scale of thevisual appropriateness principles, the sufficiency order is Ministery of EducationPublications, Mutlu Publications, Fırat Publications and Okyay Publications.According to the result of the evaluation of the books in the scale of the contentanalysis, the sufficiency order is Fırat Publications, Ministery of EducationPublications, Mutlu Publications and Okyay Publications.Key Words: Primary education, Computer class coursebooks, visualpresentation principles, content analysis
