Realization of the objectives of computer course in elementary education (grade 8)

The aim of this research is to determine to what extend the goals of PrimaryEducation 8 th grade computer courses were realized. What is the status at PrimaryEducation currenty while computer use at preschool level is being discussed? Thestudy is essentially based on defining the status of computer courses at PrimaryEducation. Are computer courses really effective? To what extend these goals arerealized? What are the factors that affect the realization level for these goals? Thisstudy is important since it reflects the current status in classrooms and drawsattention to the steps need to be taken.Survey model was used in the research. The data collecting instrument isconsisted of two separate sections. The first section, which is namely the personalbackground form. The second section, an achievement test of 40 questions was givento students. The study covers 17 schools in Çanakkale. The data analyzed throughSPSS and the significance level was p=.05. To analyze the data; frequency,percentage, mean, standart deviation and t-test, one way Anova have been used.Results of the research have been determined and evaluated based on sub-problems that have been defined earlier. The results indicate that the goals wererealized in general. However, when examined individually, there are significantdifferences in the student grades. It is noted that residence, schools, class size, familystructures of the students and individual differences were found to be influencing.These results were examined in detail in Chapter 3.In conclusion, the factors that affect the level of realization of the goalswere discussed and suggestions were made.Key Words: Computer, Primary School, Computer Instruction, ComputerCourse.iii
