Abstract (EN)
In communities with higher population rate of young people as our Country young consumers are rather important. The young have been considered by producers as a significant margin of market. Analysis of consumption behavior of the demand forming this significant share, determination of what are the purchasing process and their factors become necessary to be handled. Children have got information about consumerism from formal and informal ways. Information on consumerism obtained by children through formal and informal ways will have negative and positive impacts on their consumption behaviors. Should students who are at the age of growth (budding) learn and implement their formal and informal information about consumerism correctly, this will lead to economic and social developments in our Country. Today, students who are shopping alone at lower level will make in future individual consumption at great numbers. If we could measure their rate of knowledge of consumerism as of today, we may bring up much more knowledgeable consumers by means of measures to be taken.The purpose of this study is to determine consumerism consciousness level of students at the age of primary education. Therefore students? attitude and behavior in the course of shopping have been studied.At the field study related with the subject, within the framework of sampling plan, survey has been performed onto 500 primary school students of grades 6., 7. and 8. for revealing ?consumption behaviors and level of consumerism consciousness of primary school students?. ?Reliability?, ?Factor? and ?Variance? Analyses have been implemented onto the Survey Data. SPSS 15.0 program has been used in the analysis of data.Difference has been sought between levels of consumerism consciousness of Students of grades 6., 7. and 8. attending Private Primary Education School of Gazi University Foundation providing college education which assumed to be representing higher social-economic level and Özdemir Gürocak Primary Education Schools, a state school, assumed to be representing lower level social-economic status. As a result, it is inferenced that the student who belong to the different socio-economic classes have different level about consumer awerenessKey Words: Consumer, Consumer?s Decision Process to Buy, Consumer Consciousness and Conscious Consumer.
