ABSTRACTMaster ThesisLevels And Aıms Of Usage OfInernet By Prımary School Students(Example of Elazığ)Dinçer GÜNDOĞDUFırat University Institute of Social sciencesMain programme of Education Sciences2006; Page: 146Spread of usage of computer and internet which has become a necessity ofmodern age has also effected education system in many dimensions as it did in everysettled systems and it has become inevitable to benefit from computer and internet ineducational environment.Internet has converted school out environments into learningcenters by taking educaitoun out of school based characteristic.On the other handalthough usage of computer and internet has many positive contributions to children,itcan be dangerous if it is used in uncontrolled environments.In this sense the point of howprimary school students uses computer and internet ,who uses them at home and inschool, and what kind of interactions they realize with whom, in this process.By this research discover of primary school students? internet usage levels andaims based on students? view has been aimed.Research model has been realized in 2005-2006 educational year in 30 primaryschools in the center of Elazığ which are dependent on Ministry of NationalEducation.750 students from 4.,5.,6.,7.,8. classes 408 of which are female and 342 ofwhich are male have participated in this research.As research data, questionnaires in the likert type named as `Internet usage levelsand aims? which contains individual information of primary school students and `Internetqualification level? which is proper to research aim, have been used.In the analyses ofthese data SPSS program has been used in order to present by digitizing.According to the findings of this research students internet qualification level isin the Middle Level.It has been seen that internet is being used ordinarily and rate ofinternet usage increases as age increases.Keywords:internet, students, primary education, internet qualification
