Examining computer anxiety of teachers and administrators in primary schools

This research aims at examining computer anxiety of teachers and administrators in public schools in Uşak. Data were collected through Computer Anxiety Scale and personal information form.The universe set of this research consist of 175 public schools within the province of Uşak which has five towns: Banaz, Eşme, Karahallı, Sivaslı, Ulubey.The sample of 85 schools 363 teachers and 125 administrators were selected by a stratified sampling method out of data universe of 1669 teachers and 286 administrators employed during 2011-2012 academic year.In this research, the fist part of the scale involves the personal informations of the respondents (including gender, education levels, subject area, seniority) The obtained data was analysed using SPSS 17.0 software packag.[The results showed that the levels of the primary school administ using technolgy and computer anxiety differ according to various independent variation.]Data analysis was carried out by ANOVA and t test for the comparisonof independent groups.The results of the research; descriptive statistical values were analysed according to 3 subscales of Computer Anxiety Scale. The most common anxiety type is "Learning Anxiety", the second one is "Damaging Anxiety", the third and the less common one is "Affective Anxiety". The gender of the participators do not statistically significant among the subscales of the computer anxiety measure.Key Words: Tecnology, Computer Anxiety, Teachers, Administrators.
