Evaluation of the "team leadership" abilities of the principals in primary schools by teachers and school inspectors (ankara province sample)

In this research, the ?team leadership? abilities of the principals in primary schools are evaluated by the teachers in primary schools and by the inspectors attached to the provincial national education directorate. For The research, randomly chosen Primary Education Schools from Ankara were taken into account. The data was collected by means of a questionnaire prepared by the researcher and the collected data was analyzed by using ?SPSS 10.0 MS for Windows? program. In the analysis conducted, the ?team leadership? abilities of the principals are evaluated by the teacher in primary schools and by the inspectors attached to the provincial national education directorate and it is determined that there is a change based on gender in ?meeting management? and ?providing participation?, which are two dimensions of the ?team leadership?. It is seen that there is no change based on gender in ?conflict management?, ?orientation? and ?purpose and role establishment?, which are the other dimensions of the ?team leadership?. From the standpoint of inspector-teacher, it is seen that there is a significant change in ?conflict management?, ?meeting management?, ?interterm 8 communication management?, ?motivation management?, ?orientation? and ?providing participation? dimensions. There is no significant change in ?purpose and role establishment?. From the standpoint of seniority, it is seen that the opinions of the primary school teachers and the primary education inspectors with a seniority period of 16-20 years are more negative compared to the others. The research is composed of four chapters. The first chapter deals with aim, importance, definitions and limitations. In the second chapter, the conceptual outline of the study is explained and the related researches carried out at home and abroad were mentioned. The third chapter consists of method, of the research, sampling, data collection techniques and the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. In the last chapter, the results of the research and recommendations are presented.
