Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of school culture and teamleadership on educational activities in public elementary schools in the city of Elazığ.In this research, which is a descriptive study, scanning model was used. Theopinions of the participants were asked by using likert-type questionnaires. Theuniverse of this research is composed of 267 administrators who worked in 82elementary schools and 2438 teachers who worked in city of Elazığ during the 2006-2007 educational season.The theoretical structure, constituted after a comprehensive search ofliterature, is tried to be explained on the basis of theory and present situation is triedto be described. The data collected by the questionnaires was analyzed by frequency,percentage, arithmetic mean, t-test and corelation analysis by SPSS.Pearson Corelation Analysis was applied in order to understand whether thereexists a meaningful relation between the participants? opinions about school cultureand team leadership or not. According to the results of the anlysis, it is determinedthat there is a positive corelation between school culture and team leadership.The results of the analysis shows that participants agreed with all of theprepositions related to team leadership. Concerning school culture and team work,participants agreed with all of the prepositions but disagreed with 5 of them aboutschool culture and 9th and 16th prepositions about team work. Finally, when the taskvariable of the participants is taken under consideration, it is seen that there is ameaningful relation between the different point of views of the administrators andteachers.Keywords: School culture, team leadership and team work.
