Ilköğretim okulu öğretmenlerinin, okul-aile ve toplum ilşkilerine yönelik performanslarinin incelenmesi

The purpose of this study is to determine the school managers and inspectors? view in relation to the performances of primary school teachers with regard to their qualification on ?school, parent and society relations? in the scope of their general capabilities. This examination is a survey model. The population of this examination is consist of school managers who work in the public primary schools registered to the central districts (Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Sincan, Yenimahalle) of Ankara province and the primary school inspectors who work in Ankara province. 310 of 1614 school managers who work in these districts were chosen by the stratified sampling method and 122 of 178 primary school inspectors were chosen again by the same method. For the study, a survey consisting of the qualification with regard to school, family and society relations by the Ministry of National Education to have the relationships of the teachers with school-family and society. The survey prepared was applied to the school principal and primary school inspectors. In order to solve the sub-problems of the study; Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskall Walls Test from the non-parametric tests and one-Way Analysis of Variance and t Test from parametric tests were used. In accordance with the findings of the examination; the participants think that the classroom teachers are more qualified in ?recognizing the environment? sub-dimension. Although the opinions of the school managers and inspectors about the capabilities of both classroom and also the branch teachers for the ?Making good use of environmental facilities? sub-item are in the same range; when the mean values are examined, their opinions about the branch teachers are more positive than their opinions for the classroom teachers. Although the opinions of the school managers and inspectors about the capabilities of the both classroom and also the branch teachers for the ?Transforming the school into a cultural centre? sub-item are in the same range; when the mean values determined by the participants are examined, their opinions about the classroom teachers are more positive than their opinions for the branch teachers. The participants think that classroom teachers are more capable in the sub-item of ?Providing Family Participation and Cooperation?. In addition; as the duty, gender, seniority, priority, educational status and branches of the participants are thought each as a variable, an investigation was made in order to detect whether a significant difference is present between the opinions. As a result of this examination; it was advised that in-service training programs to be organized to improve the teachers? qualifications in the school-environment and school-family communication and cooperation, common public education programs to be organized in relation to the effects of family and society on education to provide awareness for the target group, the functionality of the parent-teacher association, the regulation of parent-teacher association of the Ministry of Education and School Parent Student Contract to be evaluated and it was also advised to detect whether these functionalities are able to be increased by making amendments on the related regulations.
