Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted in order to supply information on primary school curriculum, social change and the relationship between two of them. It was also aimed to study these issues from different perspectives. In this study, the research technique of detailed literature review was used. First of all, Turkish Educational System which was formed with the social, political and economical developments in the period of Turkish Republic, the legal regulations related to the National Education and the primary school programs which have changed so far were examined. After constructing the concept of ?social change?, the relationship between it and our educational system was investigated. Secondly, the effect of the components belonging to social change on primary school curriculum was tried to determine. It was found out that the adoption process of primary school curriculum prepared according to the goal of European Union in 2005 was not completed. Moreover, since the components of social change are always in a quick transformation, these components are not adapted and prepared at a level of deserving the quality.
