Opinions of primary and secondary school teachers working in the city center of Eskişehir about the system of progress of teachers on career steps

Human resources management has been getting more importance in organizations as well as human factor itself. Human resources management helps the organizations to reach their goals by meeting the needs of individuals. Human resources management includes all the services such as all kinds of payments,trainings, development, promotion, appointment, motivation, dicipline,and evaluation from the employment time to the end.The development of education workers is considered to be more important than other professions. Beacuse of the increase in the knowledge and technology, teachers faced with the necessity of developing themselves. As a result of such a necessity The System of Progress on Career Steps of Teachers has been put into implementation. The aim of this reserach is to determine the opinions of primary and secondary school teachers about the evaluation criteria of Career Step and the results of the system.As a result of the evaluation of the teachers personal characteristics;women teachers have positive attitudes towards the criteria of seniority, while men teachers have positive towards application results. Teachers with 16 and more years seniority have more positive attitude towards seniority criteria than teachers with 1-5 years working time. Secondary school teachers have shown more positive attitude towards education and exam criteria. Expert teachers have shown more positive attitude towards exam and application results and finally teachers with post graduate certificate have shown more positive attitude towards seniority, education and activities criterias.
