Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine teachers' opinions who are working in the province of İzmir on the English language curriculum of the 2nd grade of primary education. 340 English teachers working in primary schools in the province of İzmir during the academic year of 2018-2019 participated in the research. "The Rating Scale of the 2nd Grade English Language Curriculum" which was developed by Süer (2014) was used so as to determine Teachers' Opinions About English Language Curriculum of the 2nd Grade of Primary Education. In the first step normality test was made on the purpose of deciding which tests to be used in the analysis of points the participants got. Differentiation status related to their genders was analyzed with unpaired t-test as the data of the participants reveals normal distribution and each data is independent from one another, with Mann-Whitney u test as differentiation status related to school type is not normal, with one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) as differentiation status related to their job experiences and university type they graduate reveals normal distribution. It was seen that English teachers answered in the form of "I agree" in both sub-dimensions and in whole scale. Meaningful differences were determined in the teachers' opinions related to gender variable, school type being worked, undergraduate program being graduated. This research has been estimated to contribute to the literature in terms of comparison of the private and public schools for the first time on the English language curriculum of the 2nd grade of primary education.
