Based on value consciousness approach application of value education for primary school students

The aim of this study is to determine whether the techniques included in the Value Education Practice Based on the Value Consciousness Approach at the level of primary school students are functional. The study was carried out with the values of honesty, respect, love, responsibility and benevolence. The research was carried out with 25 students. The training process took 21 weeks. Semi-experimental method was used in this study to reveal the effect of Value Education Application Based on Value Consciousness Approach on the cognitive awareness of primary school students. The knowledge status of the students towards the goals of the Value Consciousness Approach regarding the values determined before the study and the knowledge status they have after the study were compared with the pre-test and post-test application. The data were analyzed with Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the findings were interpreted. At the end of the study, it has been revealed that the techniques in the application performed are functional and create cognitive awareness among students. In addition, students were able to define the values more accurately, to determine the values in behavior correctly, to predict the values both for themselves and for others, and to determine the ideal value for themselves and why.
