Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between primary school teachers' motivation levels towards their profession and primary school students' school happiness. The research was conducted within the scope of relational survey model. The study group consists of teachers working in Kalecik Primary School in Tuşba district of Van province and their students in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data were collected through the "School Happiness Scale for Primary School Children (SSSPK)" developed to measure the school happiness of primary school students and the "Primary School Teachers' Motivation Scale (PSMTS)" used to determine the motivation of teachers towards their profession. 233 students and 8 teachers participated in the study. The data were analyzed using t-test and ANOVA test. According to the results of the analysis, a significant difference was found between students' school happiness levels and grade level; 3rd grade students' school happiness levels were higher than 4th grade students (p<0.05). There was no significant difference in students' school happiness levels according to gender variable (p>0.05). In addition, there was no significant difference between the school happiness levels of the students and the professional experience of their teachers (p>0.05). Data on teacher motivation were analyzed under four sub-dimensions: "Attitude Towards Profession and Professional Success", "Appreciation and Professional Happiness", "Avoidance of Profession" and "Absorption of Profession". In the context of these dimensions, significant relationships were found between teachers' levels of motivation towards the profession and students' school happiness in the dimensions of professional attitude, appreciation and internalization of the profession (p<0.05). Accordingly, the school happiness level of the students of teachers with high motivation towards teaching profession is also high. On the other hand, no significant relationship was found between the dimension of "Avoidance of Profession" and school happiness (p>0.05).
