Abstract (EN)
The migration movements that started with the history of humanity continue to exist today and increase gradually with the globalization. Globalization has not only increased the migration movements, but has also caused the diversification of the causes and types of migration. However, in parallel with the increasing migration mobility, the number of migrants has been increased worldwide and the problems faced by migrants have increased. Therefore, the phenomenon of migration has started to be seen as an important social policy problem in the world and has become one of the most important agenda topics in all the world countries. Because of increasing migration mobility, migration is one of the main agenda topics in which migrant workers are discriminated against and are not employed with equal rights and opportunities with local workers. In addition to these reasons, the fact that migrant workers are not adequately protected by the labour legislation of the receiving countries this revealed that they should be protected by internationally valid and binding rules. This study, which examines the protection methods developed and international normative regulations which is accepted by the ILO against the discriminatory practices and policies that migrant workers are subjected to, consists of three chapters. In the first part, the conceptual framework of migration and migrant workers is given. Also as an additional, the causes of migration and the types of migration have been examined under titles. In the second part, the norms which is accepted by ILO and to prevent the discrimination against to migrant workers has explained under titles.
